Derek Salfia

Director of Construction

Derek Salfia has been Director of Construction for the Development Division of The Keith Corporation (TKC) since 1999. In this capacity, he oversees pre-development and management of construction projects which includes site evaluation, pre-construction analysis, due diligence, preparation of construction budgets, and management of consultants and contractors. Derek manages TKC owned facilities as well as third-party client facilities.

Since 2005, he has managed and developed over 14.2 million square feet of projects, at a value of more than $1.1 billion, including Becton, Dickinson & Company (BD), Balance Systems (BSI), Crate & Barrel, Empire Distributors, GE Security, Room & Board, Schneider Electric/Square D, Lee Boy, Pergo Flooring, Papa John’s Commissary, and RSI Home Products.

Other projects that he has completed with TKC include corporate headquarter facilities such as Parkdale Mills, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, and Citizens South Bank. Derek has also worked on several retail developments including Thomasville Furniture and Walgreens.

He previously worked as the site/civil group manager for Woolpert Consultants in Charlotte and is a magna cum laude graduate from West Virginia University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture.
