Derek Salfia
Director of Construction
Derek Salfia has been Director of Construction for the Development Division of The Keith Corporation (TKC) since 1999. In this capacity, he oversees pre-development and management of construction projects which includes site evaluation, pre-construction analysis, due diligence, preparation of construction budgets, and management of consultants and contractors. Derek manages TKC owned facilities as well as third-party client facilities.
Since 2005, he has managed and developed over 14.2 million square feet of projects, at a value of more than $1.1 billion, including Becton, Dickinson & Company (BD), Balance Systems (BSI), Crate & Barrel, Empire Distributors, GE Security, Room & Board, Schneider Electric/Square D, Lee Boy, Pergo Flooring, Papa John’s Commissary, and RSI Home Products. Beginning in 2011, Derek managed the first build-to-suit development for Niagara Bottling in Mooresville, NC. Since then, we have completed over 45 projects for Niagara, totaling more than 20 million SF of manufacturing and distribution facilities with project costs totaling more than $1.6 billion. Projects have been completed in over twenty States throughout the US, two in Mexico, and one in Sydney, Australia.
Other projects that he has completed with TKC include corporate headquarter facilities such as Parkdale Mills, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, and Citizens South Bank. Derek has also worked on several retail developments including Thomasville Furniture and Walgreens.
He previously worked as the site/civil group manager for Woolpert Consultants in Charlotte and is a magna cum laude graduate from West Virginia University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture.
