The Keith Corporation (TKC) is proud to announce our partnership with Cape Fear Valley Health in the development of a new Cancer Center and Medical Arts Building on the campus of Central Harnett Hospital.
The new three-story, 70,000-square-foot Medical Arts Complex will be a cornerstone of advanced medical care in the region, anchored by a cutting-edge 17,000-square-foot Cancer Center. This facility will address critical healthcare needs, offering a full spectrum of cancer care, including the introduction of radiation oncology services to the area. Currently, Central Harnett Hospital provides cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy services, but lacks radiation therapy capabilities—a gap this new development aims to fill.
The new Cancer Center will feature advanced technologies and facilities designed to improve patient outcomes and experiences:
- Linear Accelerator (LINAC): This state-of-the-art equipment will provide precise radiation therapy, targeting and destroying cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue. This is the first and only Linear Accelerator in Harnett County.
- CT Scanner: A high-resolution CT scanner will aid in early cancer detection, offering detailed 3D imaging for accurate diagnoses.
- Infusion Bay: The number of infusion chairs will nearly double, providing more patients with chemotherapy in a comfortable setting overlooking a tranquil courtyard garden.
- Private Patient Rooms and Consultation Spaces: These will offer a private environment for patients and their families to consult with care teams, enhancing the overall treatment experience.
- Volunteer Office: A dedicated space for community volunteers who play a vital role in supporting and enhancing patient care.
The need for comprehensive cancer treatment in Harnett County has never been greater. Harnett Health President Cory Hess highlighted a 40 percent increase in annual cancer patient visits since 2020, emphasizing the need for expansion to meet growing patient demands and enhance the quality and breadth of services. The new Cancer Center will alleviate the burden on patients who currently travel long distances for radiation therapy, offering them the convenience and comfort of receiving all necessary treatments close to home.
As we wrap up this project, TKC remains committed to delivering exceptional healthcare facilities that meet the evolving needs of our communities. The new Cancer Center and Medical Arts Building at Central Harnett Hospital represent a significant step forward in our mission to enhance healthcare access and quality to communities across the country.
